Collateral damage

Posted by jack konopski on August 14th, 2008

The election is around the corner. What an exciting time. Help me to understand. The case: I recently got divorced for the benefits of everybody concerned. This process, ( particularly in my case: no children, no spouse support, no dependents, no health issues, no any other issues that could prolong the process in any way) is in its entirety governed by statutes. in other words, don’t be creative just follow the legislators manual so to speak, the statutes. If that was not enough, we have elected the guardians, so the manuals are implemented and followed to the letter, we call them the Judges, them Honors. What if the very same people who swore to uphold the letter of the law to the highest standards, are the very same people who COMPLETELY ignore them. What if they brake every court order, and allow every court order to be broken. Were do we go from here. I am not to judge the lawyers, although in my opinion, lawyers with personal liabilities approaching a million dollars should never be allowed to represent anyone in a divorce case were there is at steak $100, let alone , over a million . After all, for better or worst, they are human too.
I am not to judge the Judges. After all we elected them. Next time around, they are not getting my vote. So, who do we do go after. But of course, the only ones left in this equation, are the legislators. How about, as oppose to raise their salary, heat and cool the chambers they have their debates, we put them in the court rooms, so they can write their statutes right there and then. BE in touch with us, the people, the lethargic, apathetic and incurious judges and finally the almighty, lawless, mindless, pathetic financially overextended lawyers. in conclusion. I was a citizen of four different countries before I became the citizen of the greatest country on this planet the USA. the judicial system in the US is the best system there is. Maybe the legislators, while working in the court rooms will wake up to realize that The Judges and the lawyers should be trained frequently so they are on the same pages, that the spirit and the meaning of a statute is not lost in translation. Over the years I learned to live with it as in a collateral damage, but never accept it. VOTE!!!.
